Hip Hop Coalition

Man, I remember Hip Hop Coalition back in the days of Jeff Sims, they had a lot of fun back then and brought a presence to the NMU campus that it had been lacking. I’m happy to say that last semester, Northern Michigan University students started it back up. This semester they have been working hard to get their presence known. I think it’s safe to say that February has been a great month for the Hip Hop Coalition.

They hosted a night at the Mixx earlier this month, with Radio X on the turntables, and even more recently they had a Mardi Gras party. Not only do they have a presence on campus, but they are getting involved with the community, this is great to see!

Now, I realize this is kind of last minute to hype the event, but if you can’t make it, I’m sure there will be plenty more events to come. So tomorrow night (Thursday, March 25) at the Mixx, the Hip Hop Coalition is doing Round 2! DJ Mo and Radio X will be on the turntables. Performers include CODEMAN, e.R., Soul, Jimmy Wayne and K. Doors open at 9pm and stay open until bar close. Minors are allowed… for a $6 cover of course (i.e. 18-20 year olds), as for you “Of-Agers” (21 and up) it only costs $2 to get in.

So make your way out to party with the Hip Hop Coalition at the Mixx, I’m sure there will be many more events to come!

Thats wassup, thanks LastCallMqt! I’ve been working with NMU’s Hip Hop Coalition since the original president, Thomas Murphy Jr., the founder of this organization. I helped open up for Twista, performed and partied with Shock G, Money B and Digital Underground. They also co sponsored the Ludacris show, brought Naughty by Nature to the old Matrixx. Simms had helped with the Rich Boy concert. Theres definitely ALOT of history with this organization and I truly am glad to see HHC back on it’s feet, working harder than ever!!! Hope to see ya’ll out at our events, showing that local support. Quest Mcody show in the works, Crisco Kidd and Dj Rockwell will be up here again too!

  3. Hi, Awesome blog you have here. I wanted to let you all know that I think Twitter is going to be one of the stronger networks because of the fact that it is supported by so many industries. I also think when Twitter reveals some of it’s new functions, returning traffic will increase to show the real growth of the network.

Anyway, I build a site that offerers great resources for Twitter that are 100% free, so come and visit and don’t be a stranger.

    Keep up the good work!
